The DrunkDeer X60 Future isn’t just another 60 % gaming board; the minute you open the box, it screams quality! The sheer weight of this keyboard shocked me, but in a good way! There are plenty of cheap keyboards around that feel plasticky and flimsy, but this certainly isn’t one!
The design may not appeal to everyone, as it’s quite in-your-face, which will be appreciated by some and disliked by others. This also applies to the 60% layout. If you are tight for desk space, then the size will certainly fit your needs perfectly.

The X60 Future has a very bold design with a full metal hollow case and a built-in tempered glass light bar that doubles as both an RGB showpiece and a desk centrepiece. Both the lightbar and the underside of the keyboard can have custom RGB lighting. Its a clean look but also very aggressive, fitting nicely into most gaming desk setups as it has plenty of options to customise to match.
The 60 % layout keeps things compact, saving valuable desk space for wide mouse swipes! Ideal for FPS and MOBA players alike. Hot-swap support lets you experiment with different magnetic switches, while the durability claims (100 M key life and aluminium frame) instil confidence in longevity.

Where the X60 truly shines is in responsiveness. With an 8 kHz polling rate and 0.2 ms ultra-low latency, this keyboard is engineered to register every keypress with near-instant feedback! A boon for high-intensity gaming scenarios. Drunkdeer’s proprietary Qian magnetic switches offer smooth actuation with rapid triggering, which gives this board that competitive edge.

Despite its gaming-first focus, the X60 supplies a surprisingly decent typing experience. This review was written on the X60 Future, and after some tweaks, it was a great typing experience. The Magnetic switches tend to feel smoother and more predictable than typical mechanical alternatives, reducing finger fatigue during longer sessions. RGB effects and lighting customisation are vibrant, and there are plenty of options to play around with in the web-based software

The software connected fast and offered lots of different customisation, as I said previously, with thetyping it needed a couple of tweaks to get it how I wanted it, but it was easy enough. There is the option to store profiles so you have one for gaming and one for typing if you need it, which saves some time. The web-based software isn’t quite up there with the likes of Wooting, but it’s definitely more than usable. I am sure Drunkdeer will continue to improve it over time, too.

Value is very important to most, and at the time of writing, the X60 Future is priced at $129.99, which in GBP is around £96! For this build quality and level of features, I can honestly say it is an amazing value! It even includes a really solid USB-A to USB-C braided cable, spare switches and a switch/key puller.

Verdict:
The DrunkDeer X60 Future is a standout keyboard for gamers who prioritise speed and showmanship. Its ultra-fast polling and minimal latency help blur the line between intent and action — perfect for competitive play. While the software ecosystem and build nuances don’t quite match premium rivals, the X60 delivers excellent value with performance that punches well above its price bracket.
