Acer have released a gaming keyboard in the form of the Predator Aethon 330, is it any good though?
The Aethon 330 is a compact 60% mechanical keyboard that aims to deliver a blend of performance and portability for gamers and typists alike. Priced at around £49.99 it offers wireless connectivity, RGB lighting, and tactile Kailh Blue switches.
The keyboard has a 61-key layout, reducing desk clutter while retaining essential keys. Its plastic chassis weighs around 600g, feeling sturdy without being overly heavy. The keyboard’s dimensions are 291 x 102 x 40 mm, making it highly portable.
The build quality is solid for its price point but its a shame there is no included wrist rest as the keyboard has very limited adjustability. It offers only a single tilt angle and this maybe a letdown to users seeking ergonomic customization.
Now on to the important part of any keyboard, the Kailh Blue switches. These switches deliver a tactile and audible typing experience. They are known for their clicky feedback, which some users find satisfying for both gaming and typing. Bare in mind these are fairly loud and could annoy others around if they are sensitive to the noise or the environment around is very quiet.
The 330 supports 100% anti-ghosting and also N-Key Rollover. This helps to ensure accurate keypresses during intense gaming sessions.
The Acer two connectivity options. The first is wired through USB-C using the provided cable and the other is through Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connection is a great addition meaning the keyboard can be used with more than just wired devices. One downside to using through bluetooth is that the RGB lighting is disabled to conserve battery life. RGB isnt for everyone but just worth a mention.
The built-in battery provided arround 30 hours of use before needing to be charged. Plenty for everyday use but if your like me and its main purpose will be gaming then the cable will likely be used anyway.

Verdict:
The Acer Predator Aethon 330 is a great choice for users looking for a compact, wireless mechanical keyboard with tactile switches and vibrant RGB lighting. The price point of the keyboard is a big plus as it competes well against higher priced opposition.
