Xbox Series X Could Retail A Lot Lower Than You May Think….

Most will be expecting the Series X to be somewhere around the £500 to £600 mark with the hardware included in the console, this isn’t the opinion from industry analyst Michael Pachter though. Michael thinks Microsoft will be so desperate to win this generations console war that pricing it lower than it’s competitor maybe the route they take to get an advantage over Sony and the PS5.

Pachter was talking to Geoff Keighley on Periscope and thinks Microsoft could shock everyone and release their console around the £400 mark making it significantly cheaper than it’s rival, while also being more powerful. Microsoft shared how well the Gamepass service has done for them and shows they have plenty of other places the money can be made up if they were to sell the console at a loss.

“From what I’ve seen, Sony is going to have to charge $500 for their PS5, and Microsoft has a big balance sheet,” “if they want to cut the price by $100, just price below and subsidise the first ten million, they will.”

Pachter also said that he thinks Microsoft won’t reveal it’s price until Sony reveal theirs to make sure the undercut works for them, Sony is still holding their cards very close to their chest with even the design of the console yet to be seen so it looks like Microsoft have a bit of a wait on their hands.
